Diesel cranking time

Hi, In the morning, from cold, how long should it crank after the glow plug goes out, before it fires up?

Too many questions to ask, but it should fire up immediately. Some of my questions are:
--Does the glow plug light come back on after it starts?
--How long does the light stay on when you turn the key on?
--How many miles on your vehicle?
Also from my understanding on the vehicles with the remote start (or whatever it is called), the vehicle cranks immediately without waiting for the light to go out.

2 to 4 cranks is what I have seen on all healthy ones.

Our '08 has the keyless access. When cold and you push the start/stop button on the dash it will pause sometimes for a very brief time, (1 second?), and then immediately crank. Only time it takes a little longer is when it's been parked outside overnight in the winter.

Mine takes 5 cranks (4 secs), to start in the morning, during day, it is immediate.
Is that normal?

The glow plug module is the cause of hard starts in the morning. Replaced mine all okay now.
