wheel bearing
Couple of days after our ~4500mi road trip (that we did in 10 days) I started to hear some noises. I could really hear it starting at 40mph and up. Faster I went, higher the pitch. So I figured it could be a bearing. Seemed like it was coming from rear, passenger side. I put the vehicle on the lift and started to listen. I'm 99.5% sure that its real left wheel bearing. New part cost little over $100. I'm thinking about doing it myself. I've done this before on a different vehicle. Has any one done this? Is there more than one bearing? Any tips/tricks? Special tools? I have access to a press.
Thank you.
Thank you.

before you do that - rotate tires.
seriously. i dont know _anybody_ in the real world that can tell bearing from worn tire.
you can lift truck, grab wheel at 12 and 6 and try to detect play. repeat at 3 and 9. no play- no bad bearing in 99% of the time.
my bet is tire noise rather than bad bearing.

Installed a new bearing. Total cost for this DIY job is $105. Friend had a press at his shop. It was a little tricky getting a center piece out. The rest of easy. I've never used 18mm wrench before I did this job, I actually had to buy one.
It is now drives quiet as it was before.
