I have a 2012 Gl450 which had the driver's side airbags deploy. The steering wheel airbag was easy to replace. Has anyone pulled the lower portion of the dash under the steering column? I have figured out most of it, but getting stuck where it butts against the center console area. I'm hoping someone might know how to move forward.

Why don't you take to the dealer? Or you want to hide the airbag deployment event from Carfax/ autocheck?

I have seen a spontaneously deployed airbag (due to incorrect attempt to install) break the tech hand...

There's nothing to hide and the Carfax shows as salvage. The car would need to be towed to a dealer until I get it further along in the restoration, plus as a gear head I will do everything possible before handing over to someone else.
