*BUYER BEWARE* CLEVELAND, OHIO 2008 GL550 Black on Black MONTROSE AUTO GROUP
SubscribeHello everyone,
(I hope this is ok to post, I just don't want anyone to get tricked like I almost did)
The Golden Rule-"One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself"
I guess when buying a vehicle that kinda goes outta the window
. Depending who you are dealing with I guess. I just moved to the Cleveland, OH area from NYC, expecting a slower pace of life & reduced cost of living to accommodate my growing family (Wife & 8 month old baby). Decided to search for an SUV, I had started research on GL's months prior to our move. Considering the harsh winters of Cleveland, it was time for me to put away the E55 totally for the winter season. I was immediately enthralled with the 2009 GL550 with the P1/P2, AMG Wheels, Rear Entertainment, Off Road Package. So my search started. It seemed almost impossible to get all those things but I was willing to go to some neighboring states to take delivery. Almost like looking for a unicorn. This car just wasn't up for sale on the east coast. As I started to realize I probably wasn't gonna find it, I settled a little. Found a 2008 P1/P2 AMG Wheels, Rear Entertainment but No Off Road, found it at a MAZAD DEALERSHIP. MONTROSE MAZDA to be exact. (I know, I'm buying a Taco from a Burger joint) I thought it was a good deal so I jumped on it. To make a long story short the truck had broken AIRMATIC , salesman Mike B. told me he would take care of it by the time I come back to pick up the truck. I didnt know what was wrong, I do know it wasn't working at all and at one point said "AIRMATIC MALFUNCTION". I thought it was an easy fix a few days at a MB dealer could take care of. After haggling price decided to come back a few days later to pay cash for the truck. When we arrived to pick the truck up my wife & I were treated with nothing but unprofessional behavior. Needless to say the truck was never "Taken care of" AIRMATIC was still broken, didn't find out till the truck came back from detail, hopped in and it was like it was when I first saw it. General manager Brandon M. and salesman Mike B. plus the rest of the staff there were some of the most incompetent, unethical bunch I have encountered in a long time. They never once attempted to acknowledge the vehicle was even broken or come up with a reasonable solution to help me out. I was treated terribly and definitely not like I was coming to pay cash for a Mercedes. I didn't really get into the details of the disrespect, I just want you all to know, don't deal with them. The truck is actually still for sale on an EBAY listing too. Just search 2008 GL550 Cleveland, Ohio 44129. Waiting for some person who doesn't know any better to buy it.
I ended up taking ownership of a 2008 GL550 fully loaded except the Off Road Package from a local Mercedes Dealer. I spent a little more but I got a great piece of mind. PLEASE BE CAREFUL OF MONTROSE MAZDA-MONTROSE WESTSIDE AUTO CAMPUS. THEY ARE DOING TERRIBLE BUSINESS.
PICS OF THE TRUCK I ENDED UP TAKING ARE ATTACHED, I really wanted Black on Black but Capri Blue over Tan is good enough

They both start with an "m" but that is pretty much where the similarities end between a Mazda and a Mercedes dealership...
