using eBay chinese star PC to program key
I am thinking of getting the MB C3 Star computer on eBay for $399
Will I be able to use this to reprogram a new key that I get off eBay??? How difficult is this to do?
If I can do this, then spending $400 for the C3 Star is a no-brainer. I will save $200 on the key alone (keys are only $50 on eBay)
Thanks to all for answering this

If the C3 Star computer cannot do things like programming the key then what can it do? Is it just for reading and erasing error codes?
I would have thought that this is similar to the Star computer used by the dealer; which means I can do what the dealer can do.
Does anyone have any thoughts whether it is worth getting the C3 Star computer that is available on eBay for between $399 and $499
Thanks to all.

It is a troubleshooting tool/ parts catalog/ schematics and repair procedures all-in-one system.
Coding the car is a whole different animal. It requires valid / active star account with the Mercedes mothership. The Chinese das does not have that.
Keys are even more involving and once coded they cannot be recoded. Thus most of the keys on eBay are worth their shell only.
