Fire with my GL450

Has anyone been successful in filing a complaint with their GL going on fire? Our 2007 GL went on fire out of nowhere. Just sitting in my driveway.

Not only not common (though I have heard of one other with the fire starting in the battery/battery compartment under the front seat).

I'd venture to say a handful of them happening or more, shortly after delivery or within a year or two might get a good look from someone as a design defect or material defect.

If it happens on a car that is now roughly 8 years old (model year 2007's started production in 2006) would suggest more a maintenance/repair causation. Bad aftermarket battery? Un-repaired oil leak, damaged wiring, fuel system leak after repair/replacement of say a fuel pump or filter, improper repairs after an accident, etc.
