I need to replace my windshield on 07 Gl450. Has anyone done this? Does the compass work off of something in the windshield? Also, is the rear view mirror part of the windshield, it looks like it may be attached?

I had mine replaced after it was hit by a rock. I'm not sure what was involved, but the installer did it in my driveway with MB branded glass (he said it was made by PPG, and you could get the same windshield w/o the MB logo for a couple of hundred less) and it took under an hour. Everything works and looks like the original windshield.
