GL 450 Water Leaks

I recently had a battery go, along with a SAM module. Apparently, there was a lot of water in my backseat foot well and the carpets were soaked. Loads of problems came with that - passenger back window not working, engine light on,, etc.

I am trying to get rid of the vehicle so I am reluctant to fix everything only to trade-in and I don't want to spend the money to do the diagnostics to figure out where the water came from. New SAM module, battery, etc. was $1,200.

I am trying to get insurance to cover the costs as there was clearly some type of water damage. This happened during a huge snowstorm in early January. Any advice on how to get insurance to cover, then maybe I will have all things diagnosed and fix prior to trade in.

2007 GL 450 has been a nightmare since coming off cert pre-owned warranty. I've spent $9,000, mostly on major repairs, the past 2 years. Last MB I will ever own!!
