Car hesiates a exceleration:
Car hesitates at acceleration; code states back pressure too high? The original issue was the vehicle wouldn't start. My mechanic said it was the fuel pump and senor, replace it and then replaced the fuel filter, cleaned the injectors. When he test drove the vehicle after the service the check engine light came on. The code of “back pressure too high”. As a cheap fix he cleaned the Catalytic Converter - he said it was very dirty.
I find it hard to believe that prior to the car not starting, it was running just fine. I understand the fuel pump dying at will, but typically hesitation when accelerating seems to be fuel injectors. Grant it, I don’t have an understanding of the Catalytic Converter, so anyone have any thoughts? I really don't want to spend the money on a new Catalytic Converter!!!
