Looking to buy 2010 GL350. Any issues I should know about or keep an eye out for?
G'day everyone,
I am looking to buy a 2010 GL350 for my wife as we have the need for a 7-seater SUV. A friend of mine owned a 2011 ML350 and advised brakes needed replacing every 10,000kms, only Continental tyres were available and a few other general issues.
Are there any well know GL issues I should be wary of or specific questions to be asking the dealers when sourcing the vehicle?? Any help appreciated.

Out Of Control!!
They must have been bad drivers to need brakes ever 10K (or there dealer was taking them for big bucks).
The single biggest issue seems to be the oil cooler seals.
As for tire availability, depends on the size wheels. Even sizes 20's and 22's are better than odd sizes like 19 and 21

Km's?
How many miles or Km's?
In Austraila I would go with a Diesel Land Cruiser!
But I have a GL350 and really like it. It looks like some 2011s have had timing chain slap issues? Besides that mine has been awesome, 59k miles.

Here are some of my issues I've encountered with my 2010 GL350 BlueTec
Diesel model needs intermediate to advanced knowledge for DIY repairs.
Oil cooler seal is the common culprit for oil leaks.
Toe out is a common wear in the tires. Consider going to non-run flats. I'm running 275-55/R20s.
The diesel model does not come with a spare tire, you can buy a spare from a junked 450 or 550.
The roof leaks are rare, check for clogged pillar drain tubes.
When buying a used BlueTec get the fuel tank cleaned out.
Have a pair of Clic clamps, new fuel filter and 8mm wrench in your trunk.
AdBlu can be bought anywhere other than dealer.
If you monitor diesel prices, you can get diesel cheaper than regular unleaded.
We have lots of problems with Ultra Low Sulfur diesel, which you will not.
