Where is the sensor located for DLR low-beam headlights?

I keep my lights / switch at AUTO. I've noticed that the low beams stay on even on days where there is enough light outside but likely it's low on the horizon. Eventually, and as the day gets/is much brighter, the low beams turn off. Still, the GL seems to have a much lower sensitivity to the ambient light conditions, and keeps the beams on far longer than other cars I've owned (Lexus, Audi) or even observing modern luxury cars on the road. Wondering whether it's just the the sensor being less sensitive or its location is partially blocked somehow. Note this is a 2010 GL450, so I can't adjust the sensitivity of the DRLs/beams.

Thanks,
Dimitris

The sensor is in the middle of the dash near the parktronic. It is the dome shaped plastic piece that senses the daylight. I think most are overly sensitive and come on even when there is enough light outside.
