2009 x164 - GL450 - Correct transmission oil fill level?
I agreed to help a co-worker with a trans oil filter replacement.

I can't find any information about proper trans fill level.

There is no transmission dipstick

I have the Mercedes books in front of me:

Maintenance Booklet:
No mention of fill level

GL Operators Manual
No mention of fill level beyond this "if the trans is leaking, take it to the dealer"

Is there a useful DIY link somewhere?

I really miss dipsticks!

It is not trivial and requires some ingenuity to get it done diy style.

Do a search- there was a write up how to do it without the dealer "dialysis" machine
