GL350 Front wheel bearing help?
Hi all. I'm not only new to the forums, but new to an MB also.
I searched and scanned through the threads as not to duplicate a post, but couldn't find anything on this topic. Sorry if I missed it.
We recently bought (8 months ago) the little lady a 2010 GL350.
I am having a horrible growl in the drivers front wheel area. It doesn't change frequency much so I'm pushing toward a bearing. (Overinflated tires by 15 PSI for a short trip and no pitch change at all.) I know the tires are slightly cupped, but this is too loud for that.
So... In changing this bearing, is there a special bolt on press needed to extract and install the bearing? Or can I do this with a simple set of pullers and tools?
Your help is much appreciated!

You will need a press. I did rear using one in my friends shop. The front one I had to take it to a local shop and they pressed it out and installed new one for $30 cash (after business hours). I just dropped off removed parts and new bearing for couple of hours. But in any case, replacing bearings will need to be done using a press. 20ton will do.

Or just swap the tires side to side or front to rear, to check.
I had cupped tires from the rear shock absorbers being worn, and when I put those tires on the front, I immediately thought I had a bad wheel bearing.
