2011 Mercedes GL350 302000 km miles
maintenance checklist needed 2011 GL350 170000kms
Tried to get a to do list for my diesel gl350 2011 as I wanted to service it myself and perhaps go the extra mile and check other things as well. I hear the intake should be cleaned as well?, they sell a spray that does the job ( liqui moly) but the dealer doesn't recommend it?. Anyone have a detailed list of stuff to do and check to go over and beyond?

MBWorld Fanatic!
Assuming it's still called the same thing as my year, the "Maintenance Booklet" (one of the 'owner's manuals') has a detailed list of things to check, based on mileage.

Do not spray anything in the intake as the dislodged crud will end up in the cylinders and you will have compression issues. If you are not down on power I suggest not touching the intake.
Do a tranny flush. Do a brake fluid flush. Change oil and filter. Change air filter (reset adaptations with xentry).
170k km are nothing for this engine. There is nothing special needed about high mileage diesels. Ask again when you hit 350k km

I agree with Alx, do not spray, you never know what is inside.
If you are comfortable with getting your hands dirty, check inter cooler's both ends for any oil, clean any pipes/hoses before intake monifold, as peace of mind.
Also there is no "sealed for life" parts. Change any oily fluid every 40k at least. Engine 10k max or so if you plan to keep the car. Auto makers consider 100k miles as life of the car. I had Michelin tires on my toyota rav4 lasted 130k mile, I could easy hit 150k, but it was my wife's car, so I decided to change them sooner. When I spoke to the guy at the tire shop to put the same tires he told me that they are to good and Micheline does not make them any more.
