Fuel Issues with 2008 GL320 w/ 210,000 mile :)
I had problems with my fuel pump about 10,000 mile ago. I noticed since it was replaced 3 times in 30 days that when ever my fuel gauge drops around 1/4 of tank of fuel, the truck wont start...it sounds like it flooded. After about 1 hour it starts up, once I fuel-up its fine again. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks Heidi

It is not a gasser, it can't flood. There is no carburetor. Lack of fuel can (and does) cause it to crank over and over and not fire up and can sound like an older car that is flooded. Air in the fuel system (from a leak of misassembled fuel line) can also cause this symptom.

I would take it back to the people who installed the pump, it may be defective or they missed something.

Actually about 1/3 into its life
I would say that your tank has accumulated sludge. Once you have 1/4 full the fuel is too gooey to pump by the high pressure pump. That is also why you went through 3 pumps. Unless you remove tank and flush it and the lines - I see more pumps (and injectors) in your future. While at it Once you flush I would also replace the fuel filter
Just my experience.
