09 GL320 electrical connector near fuel pump missing mate???

I had my GL320 in a local shop to replace the driver door lock actuator. A day after we got it back, it threw a code. I'm going now to grab a code reader so that I can see what the code is.

However, in the meantime, I just completed an oil change and noticed this connector which is located in the "V" right by the fuel filter and is not connected to anything. I do not see a matching male connector near by without a mate. Could this have inadvertently gotten disconnected during the service and be causing my code?

Please let me know if you know what the connector is below, where it is supposed to go, or if for some unknown reason it is not supposed to be connected to anything. The connector is circled in red and the wiring is coming from a bundle pointed out with a red arrow beneath the air supply ducts and in front of the turbo.

Thanks in advance!
Nick

Steve, I think you are right. I found out my code is glow plugs. So now iit looks like when I do my fuel filter next week, I will be doing glow plugs as well.

hmm, guess that is a repair i should budget for

my 2008 ml320 has 140,000 and i have not needed glow plugs, but it is not in a cold state if that makes a difference...

actually was thinking about doing them as a precaution in the next few months, but just hydrolocked that motor- my fault- and bought a 2008 gl320

my new to me gl does list glow plug relay as done in service records but not glow plugs, it has 119, 000 on it
