GL450 Known Problems?

I just purchased a 2010 GL450 with about 70,000 miles on it. I'm not planning to buy the 3rd party extended warranty so I am wondering if anyone can tell me what are the typical things that will go wrong in the next 80,000 miles (up to 150,000 miles). I want to estimate how much I need to save and also inform my mechanic for potential fixes.

Thank you,
jz14

These will fail. Transmission valvebody/turbine speed sensor, airmatic struts/air bags, trunk latch and if you have the black window trim it will delaminate. You may suffer from waterpump failure past100k miles and your power steering reservoir may crack and your pump will run dry. Just make sure to keep an eye on it unless it was already replaced. Other than that, they are very reliable.

Get the airmatic struts from Arnott and either DIY them or have an independent mechanic handle. Will save big money. The valvebody repair will run around $1.6k at the dealership. The trim you can let delaminate and the clearcoat will eventually all peel off. If you swap for new, it will just happen again. Trunk latch is a DIY posted in the forum but dealer will charge you around $800 to repair. Don't remember the cost of the waterpump to install.
