Fuel gauge shows 3/4 tank when full

Hi all. I hope I am not asking a question that has already been answered but I could not find any answers so that's why I'm asking. I have just replaced my lift pump (fuel pump module) on my 2007 x164 GL320 cdi. I used original equipment mb part but now that the vehicle has been filled to top with fuel the gauge only shows 3/4. I only replaced the pump module on passenger side not the level sender on drivers side. ( worked fine before). I know the previous generation vehicles you could reset the computer by pulling a fuse. Can't find any answers or solutions for this model year. Thank you in advance for any input.

I have the same problem on my 07 GL450. Changed the pump only with sender unit. Worked fine but only show 3/4 when I refill the tank. Did you get an answer? Can the fuse pull correct the issue? Did you resolved the issue? Thanks

3/4 tank showing on gauge after new pump

there is a wire that was not secured properly causing the float not to operate properly for the gauge. I removed the pump rerouted wire and all good.
Apparently there is a service bulletin about this.

Thanks for your quick response. I could not locate the Bulletin I am about to check on it. Do you recall the wire and its connection? Was the wire blocking the float gauge from floating to the top?
See pictures of both pump and filter assembly attached:

Thanks

I don't recall but it was very evident once I removed the low pressure pump where the problem was causing the float to not function properly.
I hope this helps.
Good luck.
