Since one of my tires is about to show cord on the inside edge, it is time for yet another tire change on my 08 GL550. I've always used the Pirelli Scorpions, which I haven't been that thrilled with but were significantly cheaper than the Conti Cross Contacts my local source also carries.

Looking at the Tire Rack, I noticed that the Conti Extremecontact DWS 06s are available for about the same price as the Pirellis and have a much better wear rating (as well as very high ratings on the TR website). Since I wouldn't mind getting more than 18K out of an expensive set of tires, I was thinking about trying them. Has anybody used them on a GL? If so, any experience relative to the Pirellis?

No experience on a GL but on my E550 Coupe, I love them! Great all-around all-season tire.

As above, no experience on my GL350, but have them on the Jag for just over a year now and love them.

I'll be putting these on my GL when the time comes. My e class is lowered and I have to run negative camber for the wheels and was burning through tires about every 5000 miles and so I went with these and have about 6/32nds of tread after about 8000 miles.

We saw the need and manufacture front Camber and Caster adjustment kits and also rear Camber and Toe kits (rear kits double the existing adjustment range).

Restoring from the early 90’s full, ongoing precise adjustment capability.

To “fix it right the 1st time” – to resolve steering pull and costly, premature edge tire wear. A result of altering height, load carrying, fitting wider profile tires or curb knock damage.

Kits replace the 4 highest wearing front and rear suspension bushings.

Bonus with front kit is that it also replaces at same time the 2 rear bushings that are subject to premature failure necessitating the expensive purchase of complete new lower front control arms ($4000 plus).

Front and rear kits come with instructions and bush extraction tools. So no other special tools are required.

Front (Camber and Caster) kit #504016M $565
Rear (Camber and Toe) kit #504026K $480

Delivery MB World members USA/Canada $30 one kit or $40 front and rear. Can pay by Visa, MasterCard or PayPal.
