2008 GL320
Overhead Console Trim Screen
It seems my 2008 GL320 is missing a trim 'screen' in the overhead console (see attached example image with arrow pointing to missing part). I stopped by my local dealer and was told I'd have to replace the entire console to obtain this part. Does anyone know where I could find this individual part in macadamia trim color?

I've checked eBay and have been searching salvage yards, but it seems this part goes missing quite often. Does anyone know of a good source for this part?

I've found that the piece is rather loose fitting also. I think I'll add a little adhesive in there so I don't lose mine too.

Thanks for the link Marc. This is from a ML though. Do you happen to know if the overhead console is the same between the ML and GL?

Yes, it's the same for the ML (w164), GL (X164), and the R (W251)

I've checked with a number of vendors/salvage yards, and they all want to sell the entire console for $200+. I only need the one driver's side trim piece, so it's ridiculous to me to pay $200+ for one small part. I did find a place that would sell the entire console for $50, but I had them check and it turns out theirs was missing the part I need.

Does anyone have any other sources/options?

I think you need to go to the dealer and take a used one out for a test drive and make the acquisition.

Just kidding, that would be wrong.
