Custom Air intake?

I've seen the CLS55 custom dual intakes and I want to know if anyone has tried to re-route air directly to the Y intake, bypassing the factory saddle-bag filter boxes that are hellish to change.

Anyone come to a conclusion on this? I was thinking surely someone makes at least air inlet tubes in an aluminum tube or something.

The factory airbox is not a restriction and, if you read more about that intake, the concensus is that you will lose power over the stock intake.

I was speaking in terms of keeping the factory air box but swapping out just the inlet tubes that connect from off the air filter housing and connect to the front grill area.

Surely someone made those pipes/tubes in an aluminum or cool red color?
