Dying from this p0455 code
Thanks in advance; Ive been reading up, scrolling through all the various forums for the past 2 weeks, reading any and all posts with mentions of this p0455 code. I have an 07 gl450, have the code just when my inspection is due and need it to renew registration, cars been in driveway for 3 weeks.
But I've changed the purge valve, its clicking, changed the charcoal canister, cleaned the throttle body for good measure and looked for any loose hoses. Checked the gas cap, looks good and I turned the ring upside down. I now have no clue what to do. Im afraid of getting a ticket so Ive refrained from driving to far since no reg in ny and mechanics near me don't have the smoke test. I really don't think a hose is leaking, I used an air pump and connected it, and I had a flow of air back and forth from the canister and purge valve.
Im a novice diy, put the charcoal canister in myself a couple of times cleaning etc before I replaced it. Im at no avail now, and really can't afford to send it the benz dealer at the moment. Any suggestions? I only have that 1 stupid evap code. & also, I tried to remove the cel code by taking battery off, doesn't work, so I guess I have to go to autozone. But if the problem was fixed by changed purge valve and charcoal, would cel come off on its own, or does it need to be manually removed? thanks

Also, when I remove the gas cap, I can smell fuel, is that normal, only asking just in case the fuel filler neck is bad, or something along there is working improperly and causing the p0455, thanks
