Engine Pulled
Hey guys / Gals,
I have a 2009 GL 320 with 80k Kilometres, had a weird start a couple months ago where the engine made some crazy vibrations which then went away and never came back. Now here I am a few months later here i was driving down the highway probably already drove about 40 km to work and I get a christmas tree dash and lose everything. I pulled over to the side of the road and called CAA for a tow. I've always had my maintence done on the car at Mercedes. The get the car running again and the engine sounds like a vibrating POS and the tech tells me when its turned by hand that it's binding, and then they find metal filings in the engine. My extended warranty was kaput last month, and my engine is getting yanked for further inspection. Anyone know of any similar cases??

I really don't know why they are inspecting it. If its binding and there are metal shavings, the motor is done. I hope your not paying them for the inspection of the motor especially since your warranty has expired.

not it is not normal and it sucks, but some people have had issues like this
since your extended warranty just went out and you have done all your maintenance there surely mercedes will step up and help with a replacement, trade, something....
