Exhaust Switch

Hi guys. I've just bought a 2010 GL 350 bluetec two weeks ago and now has a check engine light on. I took it back to the dealer where I bought it from which is a Honda dealership since it has a 90 days warranty with them , but they send it to my local MB dealer since the don't work on this cars so the MB dealer found out the cause of the check engine light which is due to a bad Exhaust switch??? So please can anyone tell me what's mean . Thanks

exhaust switch

Hi the service advisor told me that part doesn't come alone has to replace the whole exhaust and it will cost $4,300 to fix?? Any idea about a part that's attached to the exhaust. Thanks

Could it be low blinker fluid causing the exhaust switch to short? Sometimes the blinker fluid will drip on and short the exhaust switch. Refill the fluid and replace the 30 weight ball bearings. Should be good as new. Then again, the faulty installer valves can be an issue too.

Ask for the proper name and the part number.
Go to a parts store and get the code read. May not be perfect information but may help.

You could also try an independent shop.

Or if the Honda dealer is picking up the tab, just have the MB dealer rip off the Honda dealer and while you are there get a full list of everything they find the car needs.
