just bought a 2011 GL450 Comand - non Harman Kardon.

I read about the issues getting bluetooth audio streaming to work and am contemplating upgrading speakers and amp as well.

While doing research I found these Comand replacement HUDs:

The Alpine unit appears to be the a very nice upgrade although I am not aware if it is available for sale in the US. You can find the unit on the UK site but not US site. Even if you imported it I am not sure if you would be able to download the North Am maps for the GPS. Someone else might be able to help out here. Judging by the response you received they may not be much experience with this unit. I am in the UK mid Oct and plan to check it out to satisfy my own curosity.

You did forget the AvinUSA unit..
Which looks alot like the Seicane unit.. but they are local and I have spoken with them in the past as I also want to update my unit. The X800d is also very interesting as they also have speakers/subwoofer/amp ugprades as well.

As for getting bluetooth streaming to work you may just want to get a Visseo its a cheap intermediate step.
