Replacing brakes on 2010 GL 350
I plan on replacing the rear brakes on my 2010 GL. Rotor and pads. Not sure about the shoes at this time. I am looking for the procedures to replace the rotors pads and shoes. I think I also need to access the vehicle computer as well. Can anyone assist with with this request.
I have seen previous posts on earlier W series vehicles but not the more recent Gl's. I can change out rotors and pads no problem. Not sure about the parking brake shoes and their adjustment afterwards. Do these typically require replacement at the same time as the other parts?

Nothing complicated. Just remove the wheel and the setup is self explanatory. You have one wear sensor in the pass side. Make sure you don't pinch the wiring harness- it is wired somewhat awkward and prone to pinching further away from the caliper.
Leave the parking brake shoes alone.
Leave the computer alone unless you have an unrelated request.

Thank you very much. I will be doing the job next week. Thanks for the advise on the brake shoes and computer I've changed brakes before but not on a vehicle with brake shoes for a parking brake.

I changed out the rear brakes replacing rotors and pads last week. The shoes appeared fine. I adjusted the star wheel for the shoes. I ended up doing it twice since the first time my parking brake went almost to the floor. There is some improvement after second time although there seems to be slack in the cable. Is there an additional adjustment on the GL to take out the slack in the cable? Any help appreciated.
