2007 GL450 check engine light on

2006 CLS 500, 2007 ML 350, 2007 GL 450, 2006 E350
2007 GL450 check engine light on
about 98K to 101K miles. Drives smooth but engine light suddenly came on about 5 days ago. Parked vehicle. Checked w/code reader and received message:



Any leads on where to go from here? Vehicle is parked for the time being.

Sell it if you can. The engine is going to need the idler gear replaced along with the chain and guides. I just did this on mine was a 5000 bill

Lol. Most likely the corresponding cam shaft sensor is quitting. Cheap and easy to replace.

We can lol all we want thats how they start with one bank and then the other one follows .

Close. But not quite- a messed up chain will retard both the intake and exhaust cams - ie the whole bank. One cam retarded is usually a cam sensor.

Replace sensor and if it doesn't go away- then worry
