Adding Rear Camera and Swapping Head Unit
Hi guys I have an early build 2007 GL450 that did not come with a rear camera. In order to add the camera I learned that my head unit would need to modified to accept a video input signal which was pretty pricy. I have an opportunity to pick up a head unit from a friends 2008 GL450. Is swapping this unit plug and play once I run wiring for the camera? Do I need to tap into up a reverse trigger signal (like the reverse light circuit) to activate the camera and screen or is this built into the 2007's existing wiring. Is there any kind of programming or coding that I would need to do to get the 2008 head unit to work in my 07 or are there any lock or theft security codes I'd need to know about?
