2009 GL550 tires

Are 295 40 21. Can I replace with 295-35-21 tires? They are considerably less expensive. Thx

Of course you can, the end result will be shorter tire sidewall which equals cool looks but slightly harsher ride. Your speedometer might change slightly too, maybe off by 1-2 miles max, no biggie!. I did the opposite on mine, where I added a little thickness to the sidewall due to cheaper alternatives.

No-no, I am driving GL320 so the size I used was 285/50/20, coz that size is way cheaper than what comes oem on the 20s rims. I basically got a thicker sidewall the size I chose, as the middle number is the % from the 1st number (width).

You can use whatever but I'd use tire calculator ( Google it) and stay as close to original diameter as possible, higher than oem diameter would incur less miles than actual and show slower speedometer, likewise shorter than oem would show more incurred miles than actual miles driven and show higher speedometer values... if you want to go wider I found this dia to be very close 305 45 20 ... I'm considering putting this on the GL but I have 8.5 rim size which could be a party pooper
