i get it and do think mercedes quality and repair issues are not up to par with the costs of the vehicles

but tax and destination costs... that would be on anything

there is a lot on your list that is elective add ons
trailer hitch, trailer wiring
these are not issues from owning a mercedes

maintenance is tough on me driving mine 35,000 a year
oil changes every 5000 etc

but i have had to do one front strut with arnott and did rear shocks because one was leaking,used mercedes brand and the old ones had at least 60,000 miles on them from the records, maybe more, i cannot remember
think i had to do 1 injector seal this year or last year

this year i have spent hardly anything on mine for repairs, maintenance costs are higher than i would like- oil and air filter, trans etc
but i also drive way more than normal people so my costs are double or triple on that on any car

i actually blew this entire week looking to replace the gl with a new half ton or a cargo van, wanted to be under warranty travelling with my travel trailer
tow capacity and ride quality were the top of the list
hated the ride in all the half ton 4x4, chevy and toyo were best but nowhere near the ride/drive quality of my gl- of course that is a different kind of truck

and forget mpg
i average 27-28 empty and 14-15 towing
nothing comes close on that, although i was impressed with the 20 mpg v8 motors now

looked at ford transit vans but they cannot tow my trailer according to the ford dealership

every time i got back into my mercedes after a test drive realized how much i love it lol

now maybe i would love a navigator as much, and maybe it would be cheaper to own, probably would be with an available 150,000 mile extended warranty
but i need to move to a different configuration

ended deciding not to buy anything
i LOVE driving my Gl and this is from someone who is on the road a minimum of 3 hours a day and up to 6

if the GL gives me a lot of trouble this summer maybe i will trade in the fall
but right now if i had 50 grand cash the only thing on the list would be the sprinter 4x4 van, of course it would have to be under warranty and it is a blutec so going to have issues down the road and it is why i am staying away from them

i purposely bought before the blutec motors

$580/month? Some of us pay less in a year... if your spouse is abusive, get rid of it.
