Crankshaft position sensor

My GL 450 is running fine except for an occasional slow to start (usually when engine hot). The code has not been checked but it sounds like the problem common to the crankshaft position sensor. I know what the part looks like but have not been able to locate, even after removing both halves of engine cover. Can anyone advise on it's location and replacing difficulty.
Thanks

Not to sound rude but the fact that is a crankshaft position sensor...pretty much gives you the location...mb likes to put them on the rear of the engine...it wont easy to get to and good luck

Yes, I understand and have used a flash light and even mirror to search over housing but the firewall greatly restricts my view. Besides removing the engine cover, I'm wondering if something else is obstructing the view and while I'm looking on both sides I think they're located on driver's side. I was hoping that someone familiar with a 2012 GL 450 could pin-point the location and whether or not additional components have to be removed before accessing the sensor.

driverside, next to the firewall, down and back... look from the top

does your truck stall when hot? if not, it is most likely not your cps...

So far it's just been slow to start occasionally when hot, otherwise the engine is running fine. I will verify the code Wednesday to know for sure before going forward. It's just that the sensor is the only thing that makes sense to me, but I recognize there is much I don't know.
