Which type of rear shocks

I have the 2009 GL450 4matic without ADS.

So I'm getting ready to order new rear shocks to install myself. I know to avoid the ones designed for ADS given I don't have ADS.

I did see a pair I liked but it has this disclaimer: All Models , Exlcluding electronic Airmatic suspension

Is 'airmatic' and 'ADS' the same thing? If not, how do I tell if I have airmatic? I have the air suspension but I'm assuming all models have the air suspension.

Air suspension is Airmatic. Go to Arnott's website and order through there - it's quick and painless. That disclaimer you mentioned doesn't make sense - is it through some type of ebay or fly-by-night type place? Are you sure you read the disclaimer correctly? Usually it will say "excluding ADS", not "airmatic" - or something like "w/ADS or w/o ADS". But go through Arnott directly.

Yep, I read it correctly, in fact what I posted was a direct copy/paste from the ad.

I'll check out Arnott. Thanks.

In that case, I'd definitely avoid buying from that place since they can't even spell correctly, along with having the wrong nomenclature. Dead give-away to someone just trying to resell things without knowing what they're selling. Buy from places like that... good luck if you have a warranty issue!

I ended up purchasing these for $65 per shock although the price has gone up since I purchased them..

They installed easy and the Benz rides like a dream now. Given they are generic shocks I'll updated you guys every few months to let you know how they are performing long term, but the initial impression is positive.
