I have changed 2 bulbs in 2 years. Are there no other options other than xenon for a 2007 GL450 ?

You can buy nice bulbs affordably on ebay. You have the best lighting system on your car.

It's not clear from your post if you've changed the same SIDE bulb twice, or not. If it's left and right I don't see anything wrong with that. If it's the same one... well, the first change doesn't count since you're replacing a bulb that was in there for who knows how long. The second time you changed (meaning the bulb lasted 2 years), sure that's on the short side. But maybe there was something wrong with the bulb, maybe the installation caused the issue. Hard to say.
