Turn signal resetting causes windshield wipers to go off
So this has been happening for about 3 years and it's annoying, but not to the point where I'm willing to spend out of warranty money to troubleshoot and fix. When I use my turn signal (left or right, it doesn't matter) in the manner that I push it all the way down so the lever locks into place until I complete my turn and straighten out, when the turn signal lever pops back into the normal position my front windshield wipers will come on for one "swipe". I am not pushing the turn signal lever forward or even touching it - it's just the normal "pop" back into place when you finish making your turn. What's really strange is that for the rest of the time I am driving it will never happen again until the next time I turn the car off and then come back for a new trip. Again - just a nag I'd like to figure out how to fix myself buy no idea what would cause this. Anyone have this issue or know what it might be?
EDIT: If I dont have my wipers in "auto" mode, i.e. i have the wiper switched turn all the way to off this doesnt occur. But I like to leave my wipers in Auto so that when it rains I dont have to fuddle with turning them on. Thought this might help any troubleshooters who can figure out what's happening.
