Hi! I have a 2007 GL450 that I just swapped a new transmission into. Was diagnosed at the dealership as having catastrophic transmission failure, so I got a full used trans from a local wrecker. I installed the transmission and I was told I needed to swap the valve bodies because they were hard coded by VIN so it wouldn't move without swapping over. When I pulled the old one out this thing in the picture (the gear selector thing I think) was sitting in a different location as the new one. I haven't put it back together and added fluid yet, wanted to double check and see what you guys think. First pic is how the arm sat in the original transmission, second is where it is sitting in the new transmission, I was thinking maybe one was in park and one neutral but I'm not sure. Thanks for the help!
