Thinking about replacing the Comand
My 2011 GL550 Comand unit is very outdated and I want to replace it with a receiver with CarPlay and SiriusXM capability. On Crutchfield Sony XAV-AX-100 https://www.crutchfield.com/p_158XAV....html?tp=72357 fits the bill. The installation seems straightforward with adapters and faceplate but according to crutchfield tech I won’t be able to use existing rear camera and will need a new camera for the Sony. Has anyone did this update and how difficult is it to reroute a new camera from the rear lift gate? TIA.

Also you need adapters for the rear view camera, GPS, and mic. and a MOST convertor..

NavTV has a unit for MOST adapter which is the recommended but also the most expensive.. But it has independent front and rear output..

And lastly you will loose your MFD (Multi Function Display) atleast I think you I haven't found a solution for that yet..
