Thinking about replacing the Comand

My 2011 GL550 Comand unit is very outdated and I want to replace it with a receiver with CarPlay and SiriusXM capability. On Crutchfield Sony XAV-AX-100 https://www.crutchfield.com/p_158XAV100/Sony-XAV-AX100.html?tp=72357 fits the bill. The installation seems straightforward with adapters and faceplate but according to crutchfield tech I won?t be able to use existing rear camera and will need a new camera for the Sony. Has anyone did this update and how difficult is it to reroute a new camera from the rear lift gate? TIA. John

Also you need adapters for the rear view camera, GPS, and mic. and a MOST convertor..

NavTV has a unit for MOST adapter which is the recommended but also the most expensive.. But it has independent front and rear output..

You also need a steering control unit..

And lastly you will loose your MFD (Multi Function Display) atleast I think you I haven't found a solution for that yet..
