07 GL320 Rear Hatch Control Module

Hello all,
First time poster. Long time lurker. MBWorld search and resulting posts have helped me solve so much of my rear hatch problems, but now i am stuck.

After a jump start by AAA, the rear hatch pump that drives the auto up and down does not respond. I can measure 12V constant at the rear hatch control module connector, but not even a tick nor a tock from the pump when i hit the auto open/close button.

Question: is there a way to home test the health of my GL320's rear hatch control module?

Manually, everything works great. Especially since i replaced the hatch lock mechanism a couple days ago.
BTW, the hatch release switch light on the driver's door does illuminate and i have check, double checked, and replaced just for good measure, the 40a fuse.

thx
S

Update: I took a risk and replaced the lift gate control module which is located adjacent to the lift gate hydraulic pump below the spare tire. (part number A 164 820 31 85) $100 used on Ebay.
With the new (used) module in place, my auto lift gate was resurrected from doom. I had to reset the height limiter.

On a 2007 you have to make sure that "height limiter" is set to off on the instrument cluster. Then with the lift gate closed (my engine was on but not sure that mattered) set the lift gate height by pulling the lift gate button on the door. Each time i triggered it, it lifted a little more until it got where i wanted it. then i pushed the button to close all the way.

Not sure if this will help anyone, but perhaps.

Your post doesn't help me... hopefully it never will.

But, thank you for taking the time to post the "fix"!
