TPMS in winter tires not recognized

I have a 2010 GL550 on which I have just installed a set of winter tires/wheels from a 2009 GL550. I am getting a TPMS error stating "no sensors installed." The wheels have sensors installed and the tire shop has scanned to confirm they are correctly transmitting with good battery strength. Standard TPMS reset procedure does nothing to change the "no sensors installed" message. Wondering if there was some sensor change between 2009 and 2010 models that would make the sensors incompatible - or if there is some other procedure to get the new sensors and the car to play nice. Any and all help greatly appreciated!

Did you use your originals or buy new ones? Not sure about when the change was but MB did change the frequency of the TPMS. You may have the wrong ones installed or there may be some factory reset procedure that someone more familiar that I can share.

the frequency changed from 09 to 2010.

I had this issue too and ended up buying 4 new Tpms sensors.

Check ebay and alternate mb part numbers. I believe it is 433 MHz. I got 4 oem for 89$ They were sold as a smart part.
