Hpw to replace blown DRL

Hi folks,
I've just ordered the drivers side DRL as mine has blown.
I received the part but have no clue how to install it.
Are there any guide or a video that shows me how to replace the daytime running lamp?
Hope I don't need to remove the bumper or anything..

I know it is not the same but perhaps the procedure is similar.

Ooof..,,

I went to ijdmtoy where they sell the retrofit kit for older models.

They didn't have one specifically for gl...but they said it was similar to the writeup they had for a glk

Thanks a lot guys.
If only mine had screws accessible from the outside... I am not sure the gl has them like w204. I’ll share the details once I -hopefully- manage the install

I really hope I won’t need to do this (step 1.a.1)

“Remove the front wheels and the fender liner that is held in with push pin plastic rivets. Use a flat head and pry the center out with pliers.”

Bummer. How do I take this out? Any ideas more than welcome but apparently I need access from behind as I’ve seen some screws and nuts, prying wouldn’t help here...
any ideas how I can remove the bumper?
Its below freezing outside so I don’t have many guesses?

the last one should work.
For something that wasn't meant to be serviceable I have heard that it fails often.

I found the instructions in WIS under doc ar82.10-p-2300gy
I cannot print the doc/save as a PDF due to an unknown issue. The DRL in the pictures look a little bit different from yours. However, according to WIS it can be removed without removing the bumper or headlights.

I’ve seen that, too but am afraid to break the thing as I can be rough sometimes. My drl’s look like the ones in the photo but are different in reality. The ones on WIS have 7 led’s, mine have six. I’ve ordered the wrong part and then got the correct one and I am not sure if I can just pry it open as the replacement lamp has screws on it, feels like I need to put a bolt from behind..

See this is my replcement led. It has 6 leds and a bit different than the ones on the photo. Looks like it has two nuts that I should be fixing with a bolt from the back of the bumper.

Update:
I could get the chrome thing out by prying but what I suspected turned out to be true. There are two nuts on the backside that needs to be removed. Attempted to remove the front bumper by removing the screws on the photos but couldn’t get the bumper out. It may be because my car is a 550 and has additional bumper components that make it look bigger and meaner. Not sure how hard I should pull before breaking stuff.
There are three clips that need to be removed in each wheel arch side but also not sure how to remove them too.

any help is appreciated, gl550 related help is even more appreciated.

I attached the WIS doc. It shows front bumper removal for the 164, your car is 164.8 (164886) according to WIS. This is for both the ML & GL.
Good luck.

@ignorant
Big thanks for all the pics shared here. Plenty of questions answered for me as I'm trying to swap my fog/drl light on '10 for led strip drls.
