LED Trailer Issue

So we just picked up this bad boy about 2 weeks ago....and the GL pulls it with ease!! Only problem is the LED lights on the trailer don't seem to be working correctly....the boat dealer says it's an issue on most Mercedes. I go to the dealer today for service, and they tell me I can buy a 7 pin adapter at Home Depot. Does that sounds right?? I'd rather have a factory Mercedes solution not a plug in adapter that I need to use every time.

Has anyone else had this issue, and what was your solution?

No factory solution. Most euro suvs need an adapter of some sort. We all, gl owners, have to use an adapter with led lights. I use this one Reese Towpower 85350 Adapter with LED Circuit Tester (7-Way Blade to 6-Pin or 4-Way Flat)
Amazon Amazon

It works all the time with led lights on a trailer, although I do sometimes still get the error on the dash. But it works as it should.

There's another brand that people like too, i just don't remember which one it is.

P.s. Nice towing and boat setup! Very jealous!
I'm going to pretend you didn't match colors on purpose. 😝

If the LED lights of the trailer are not CANBUS you will either get a error message or the lights on the trailer will stay on (dimmed) or will flash and then go off. There are a lot of error canceler adapters available. You will have to add one canceler per light on the trailer. Sucks but that the way CANBUS system works
