GL 320 transmission fluid change Torque converter question
So my 2007 GL 320 sometimes jerks when going up gears and I have to let go of the accelartion to go back down gears and then it will go up normally without jerking, it has about 140k miles and my dad bought it used 2016 - 2017 so I'm not exactly sure when transmission fluid was changed, if ever. Due to my dad having medical issues recently I'm not sure I can pay for a full transmission service so I'm planning to do it myself but I'm not too versed in cars in general but have been reading and researching how to do it, one thing that confuses me though is the torque converter, I've seen people mentioning to properly service the transmission the TC has to be drained as well, but do you have to refill TC back up through a pump like the pan? Or will TC get it's fluid from the pan?

The TC will refill from the pan. Close everything up, fill up the transmission with fluid, then start the car and let it run for 1-2 minutes. That will fill up the TC, and then you can run it through the gears to make sure fluid gets everywhere in the transmission.
