GL350 - New Motul 229.52 certified 5W-30 oil vs. OEM

I have been changing the oil and filter on my 2011 GL350 every six months since I bought it.

For the last 5 years since Mercedes changed the oil standard for the GL350 from 229.51 to 229.52, I've been using Mercedes-branded oil purchased on-line via Amazon for $60 per six-pack...

I recently saw new 5 liter jugs of Motul 8100 X oil become available on Amazon for $37 each. Also 5W-30 229.52 certified.

I searched the forum and couldn't find any discussion about the new Motul option for our diesel GLs. Has anyone tried it or have thoughts? It nets out to about $40 less per oil change...
