GL450 Airmatic Issue
Also search this site, there are a lot of Airmatic threads and posts.
Welcome. Without a scan tool that can talk to a Mercedes, you're limited to very basic troubleshooting.
These MB specific tools can tell you a multitude of things, such as if the compressor, valve block, central reservoir and its air lines are functioning properly.
Most often, Airmatic issues are traceable back to a leaking air spring. These things are consumables, just like tires.
If the spring leak isn't addressed by changing it out, it will lead to other second order effects - burnt out compressor, stuck relay, sticking valve block etc... so you want to have that addressed stat.
Reading that you have already changed one out, you probably have a leak in the other side (the car will try to level itself), or in the attachment fitting of the one that was replaced. You should not use thread tape on the fittings. The lines require a push in and a firm pull out to properly seat them.
So what I recommend you do is to buy a can of . Raise the car in its elevated position and spray the front air bags. Any leaks will turn the spray liquid into a frothy mess and you'll know. Hose down anywhere there's a line, connection or fitting. Then get under the car (safely) and spray the rears. Let us know what you find out!
Cheers,
Max
