My truck pulls a little to left after replacing air struts and heights at the four corners aren't perfectly symmetrical. Can non-MB shops handle 4-wheel alignment for these trucks? I'm thinking places like Sears, Firestone, Pep Boys, etc. Some info I read suggests ride height, control arm and rear axle inclination angles must be checked and adjusted before alignment. If I take it to dealer will they do height adjustment/calibration as part of standard alignment or that will be separate and extra?

 

Your friendly local mb dealer will do the best job aligning your truck for the paltry sum of about $150. I strongly suggest you let them do it as airmatic calibration work might be needed before actual alignment.

 

It's $199 now, at least in NY Metro area.

A true alignment or at least as true as they can get with factory equipment would be to use crash bolts. It cost me around $550 with the parts and labor but that was a few years ago. There's always K-mac which would be close to $1.5k with parts and labor.

 

Four wheel alignment for my 2008 gl320 cost me $249.95 last November at the Mercedes dealership in Bentonville, AR. I had it done a few months earlier at MB in Little Rock. Same price but it took like four times longer and they didn't do a very good job.

 

I am in NYC and now have a 2012 GL450 in exceptional appearance. I have had it less than a month and it appears very solid. In fact I just put plates on it today. I will have it inspected for the stocked in a few days. After that I will began to get it's service back up to snuff. So the question is what shops are you liking to use in NYC. My first item will be an oil and filter change. I have a shop in mind for that. I want to drive it a little to see what I like and don't like as is then have a knowledgeable shop look it over.
