Drivers front outer cv boot bad.
I replaced my drivers side front outer cv boot with a rein about 6 months ago, and it has failed. I also did the same job on a friend's gl, and I checked and hers failed too at the same location. I am not ruling out that maybe it was an installation error, but I don't think it was. To get an oem cv boot it will cost around $150, which I am concidering. My question is is there another brand that is a little more affordable that other have experience with, and it this cv boot a common problem on the x164?

How long have you had your GL? I've had mine about 4 years and so far, so good. If you've had yours for a while, too - or know when it was last changed, I'd say it's not a common problem. I've heard good and bad about Rein - but no real experience to relay. Did you buy it from FCP? They at least have a lifetime warranty.

I am the second owner, I've had the car for about a year and a half. 160k miles. I can remember where I made the purchase, still going through my records to see if it is under warranty.
