GL450 High Pressure Fuel Pump Failing

Have a 2014 GL450, here in the last 6 months it's started exhibiting a delayed crank after hitting start, maybe 3 seconds. Took it in to the dealer to have it diagnosed, they checked it out and said my high pressure fuel pump is failing, will be $2,400 to replace. Is this a DIY operation? Any advice is appreciated.

Yes but is a pain. You will save a ton of money if you DIY.

I hope they ruled out a failing starter. Did you ask what diagnostics they did? Maybe confirm their findings with an INDY. Its a big bill and I'd hate to see you disappointed if changing fuel pump didn't fix the issue.
