As for “splash shields” …
these parts exist for aerodynamic and noise reasons, both things subject to German regulation. Fuel economy relates to aerodynamics, of course.
They exist on all German brands, and save for boxer engine Porsches, all provide for topside oil extraction to avoid need to remove the shield for maintenance.

I to have been looking for these bolts I have 2011 GL450 with Full off-road package
thank you for this I’ve been missing the bolts to the massive 2 Skid Plates underneath, I took them off to Re-Powder coat them,! They’ve been off for a Cpl months and having them off ruined the air compressor for the suspension cause of the moisture getting to it by them not in place. Just replaced it now ordering these bolts thanks and good bless
