Hi I have a 2011 GL550 with a occasional blacked out camera every time I set the car into reverse. I do the "trick" which is slapping the back of the tailgate (near the Mercedes Benz Badge) and the camera returns. I've read multiple posts from a while ago but with no solution. Has anyone found what is needed to be replaced in order to fix the black screen in the GL?

You have a loose connection or broken wire somewhere.
If by slapping the tailgate it works again I’d start looking at the connectors to the camera, and follow the wiring to where it goes from the tailgate into the body of the car by the hinge.
