lock and unlock beep
I just received my C4 and 07.2019 Xentry set up from eBay. If you want detail on price and seller let me know.
I am trying to find the ATA version and change it to USA beep. When I go to control units>Body>Rear sam>control unit adaptations>read coding and change if necessary> I get the attached image. The ata version is not there. I have also exhausted the options in developer mode. I did find a ROW and US variant for PWM Ueff 5W.
Does anybody know how to enable beep when locking and unlocking?
It seems that the regular horn isn't used for the chirp. The alarm siren is.
So no matter what you program, you need to install a fuse and an alarm siren.
We figured the price was reasonable (can't remember but it was definitely well under $100) but I don't think anyone ever tried it.
Would be interesting to install the fuse, hook up a voltmeter to the connector, then lock the truck. If it shows voltage then you could go buy the alarm siren.
Look it up in a parts catalog.. or search around and see if you can find the previous posts. If you do it let us know how things turn out! There are quite a few people that would be interested in buying the siren if you can get yours to work (me included!!)
“Sett.”
Down arrow to “Acoustic Lock”
enable or disable as desired
OK
back out to desired menu
The beep is very low/quiet and uses the main vehicle horn.

Gave up after playing with it for a bit. I’m pretty sure it would have worked if I ordered the alarm horn. I’d try to find the connector and put a light bulb or voltmeter on it, then lock the car (after programming it). See if current goes to the horn connector. Then you know the horn will work if you order one. Wasn’t expensive ($100 or less..maybe around $50 if I remember correctly?)

Anyone know what "flashing brake light" is? As stupid as people are becoming on the roads, it might be helpful avoiding getting rear ended.
I've seen this before. The lights flash three times then stay lit until you release the brakes. Looks cool IMO
It might also irritate drivers behind me to the point they rear end me on general principles, just to extinguish the damn light.
I guess I'll have to stick with the "pedal" method: Tap the brakes when making a potentially unexpected stop.
