malfunction message pic of car with an arrow up

2008 GL 550 replaced the air compressor, air control valve and the front struts. GL sits level but am getting the malfunction with arrow up. It releases air from the front passenger side when I turn it off

Anyone know why I would still have the malfunction light or why it releases air after turning off

Releasing air (pressure at the compressor) when the engine is turned off is normal.

Does the suspension raise with the button? Does the system physically work as normal? May have to get the system checked/read with STAR.

Regarding the malfunction warning, perhaps you damaged/misaligned one of the height sensors when you replaced the strut. Go back and check the sensor for any damage, loose wiring/connections, cracked supports, etc.

Did you remove the fuse before performing the replacement? If not, try the following:
  • With the key out of the ignition, pull out fuse #108 (40 AMP "Airmatic / Control unit height adjustment" in engine bay fuse box)
  • start the vehicle and press the raise button (nothing should happen)
  • remove the key from the ignition
  • inspect the fuse for defects, purchase replacement if necessary
  • reinsert/replace the fuse

You could also try resetting the ride height. If memory serves, you do this as follows:
  • on a level surface, press the button to raise the vehicle
  • wait until the vehicle is fully raised (as per dash display)
  • let the vehicle sit raised for a couple of minutes
  • press the button to lower the vehicle
  • wait until the vehicle is fully lowered (as per dash display)
  • repeat the process a second time
Hope this helps.
